The Chapter

In these times of ecological and energy transition, studying Industrial Chemistry has become of paramount importance. This subject, which has played a leading role in the University of Bologna’s programme catalogue for more than 100 years, enjoyed its golden years in Italy in the 1970s and 1980s and then increasingly fell out of favour with Italian society until the present day. Now our aim is for it to no longer be synonymous with the problem, but to be seen for what it is: a support offering solutions. A reference point for the development of new materials and processes and a guide to change towards the sustainability paradigm.

The process of education in industrial chemistry is already on the right track as it is always in communication with the business world, but it aims to go beyond the confines of the subject and enter into dialogue with society and break down the barriers of mistrust. The Industrial Chemistry Alumni Chapter is the place where you can take one small big step in this direction by building, or rather re-building a network of yesterday’s and today’s industrial chemists with an eye on the industrial chemists of tomorrow.

This container is a place where you can collect memories, organise events, tell stories about yourself and others, offer jobs or look for them and a whole lot more; everything is possible, the Chapter is waiting to be built... together.
