WE ARE A COMMUNITY OF PROFESSORS, RESEARCHERS, AND EXPERTS COMMITTED TO THE STUDY AND CONTINUOUS INNOVATION OF DESIGN CULTURES. WE COLLABORATE WITH COMPANIES, ORGANIZATIONS, AND INSTITUTIONS, BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL, CARRYING OUT RESEARCH, CONSULTING, AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN THE VARIOUS FIELDS OF DESIGN.
ADU operates within the University of Bologna, advancing the application of design disciplines in complex contexts and undertaking research across diverse domains in collaboration with national and international partners.
Advanced Design is articulated as a research methodology that frames design in systemic, participatory and relational terms, with particular attention to processes embedded in industrial, cultural, and social spheres. It promotes a responsible and sustainable approach, oriented toward original, challenging, and cross-disciplinary themes. By observing and interpreting the transformations of society and the planet, design cultures emerge as active and transformative agents within contemporary contexts.
The Advanced Design approach is founded upon anticipation, scenario development, and change studies, while maintaining a critical engagement with emerging technologies.
